Designers are future makers!
The workshop is about performing and using research to create a new context to design for. It is about products, graphics, and fashion. Students build the future scenario through local research.
We ask the students to look into their community, to collect objects from the street, bring them to the college and share their discoveries with us. Then we ask questions about them step by step, to guide them into different directions, showing them all the possibilities that a simple, found object can give them. An object can reshape the landscape, create a different perception of the world, make new relations amongst people and make unknown situations.
We are interested in the space where the object was found and ask the students to create wishes about their community and future possibilities. We want to bring the freshness of the stranger’s eyes to the students and a new perspective on their local area. We want them to generate new ideas based on their object discoveries and create future scenarios for this area.
